How it works

Three steps, no setup.

Sign in once and you are in step one, in a workspace of your own. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure.

    Humanoids, quadrupeds, arms, hands and drones, each modelled to its real proportions. It spawns at the entrance, facing in.

    Name the place, the size and what goes in it. Or load a pre-made environment, or start from an empty room.

    Arrange, program, export

    Drag objects into place, then write a few lines of Python (or describe the task) and watch the robot carry it out. Everything is saved to your account; export the layout as JSON.

What a key adds

  • “Gudang kecil buat uji robot angkat barang” builds the same room as the English prompt.
  • Describe a job and the Program panel writes the Python for that robot, in that room.
  • Ask for ideas, or for something the studio can't do, and get a straight answer.

What never changes

  • The layout engine still places every object. A model only writes commands you could have typed.
  • Under each reply is the engine's own report, so what you read is what was built.
  • Your key is encrypted, never sent back to a browser, and billed by your provider, to you.
  • Remove it, or never add one, and the studio works exactly as it does today.

Straight answers

What it is, and what it is not.

Automata Room does one job well. Here is exactly where its edges are.

Is there an AI model behind the chat?

Not unless you bring one. Out of the box, prompts are read by a rule-based layout engine that runs in your browser: it answers instantly, needs no API key, and gives the same room for the same prompt every time. If you want free-form phrasing, other languages, or robot programs drafted for you, Settings takes an API key for your own model (Claude, GPT, Gemini and others). Even then the model only translates your words into the engine's commands; the engine still does the building.

Does Automata Room simulate physics?

No. Automata Room designs the space, and lets you program the robot in Python and watch it act the program out: planning routes around the furniture, picking things up, putting them down. That is a kinematic preview (where things go, whether the robot fits and can reach), not physics: nothing falls, slips or collides with force. The exported JSON is meant for whatever simulator you use next.

Why do I need an account?

So your rooms stay yours, wherever you are. The studio is only open to signed-in accounts, and every account has its own rooms: sign in on any device and they are there, and nobody else's are. Sign-in is handled by Privy, and the same button creates an account if you don't have one. Automata Room never asks for a wallet transaction.

Where are my rooms stored?

In Automata Room's database, filed under your account, so they follow you to any device you sign in on. Every request is checked against your sign-in, and you can only ever reach your own rooms. Export gives you a file you own, and pausing auto-save in the studio stops anything new from being stored.

Are the robot models official?

They are stylised procedural models, built to each robot's approximate size and silhouette so clearances look right. They are not the manufacturers' meshes.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The account is free and there is no credit system.
